  • 200g shelled almonds
  • 1 litre water
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

This almond drink is very thirst-quenching and, being of plant origin, can be an excellent substitute for cow’s milk, especially for those suffering from intolerances.  It is suitable for preparing many recipes and is ideal for making delicious desserts, such as cakes, pound cakes, ice cream, or more simply used as a substitute for milk in some drinks.

In this season, for example, you can enjoy a delicious hot chocolate made with the almond drink. Always a good snack that satisfies children and adults.

You may not know this, but it’s very easy to make at home. We’ll tell you how, it only requires three ingredients!

Before you start, make sure you have a colander to hand covered with gauze or a fine mesh strainer and a glass bottle for storage.

  1. After leaving the almonds to soak in 500g of water for at least one night, put them in a mixer together with the water.
  2. Add the remaining 500g of water and the maple syrup.
  3. Blend until you obtain a smooth cream.
  4. Pour the mixture into the colander covered with gauze or into a fine mesh strainer to filter it.
  5. Mix well with a teaspoon to separate the liquid part from the more solid part. If you use a gauze, squeeze the contents from time to time to collect all the liquid.
  6. Leave the liquid to stand in the fridge for about an hour.
  7. Serve as you like or keep the drink in a glass bottle in the fridge for a maximum of 5 days.
